On March 22nd Brian Northup, husband,father,grandfather and friend
went in for a routine surgery for hernia repair.
Although the surgery was to be routine Brain and his wife Danyel knew that for them it would be a bit more complicated then that,Due to Brian’s past battle with cancer and the radiation treatments done to his abdomen. But nothing could have prepared ether of them for what was to come.
The surgery was more complicated then expected and left Brian in the hospital in need of SIX ADDITIONAL surgeries. He had to be placed in the ICU where he was intubated and sedated for a month. Due to the longevity of his stay and intubation a trach had to be put in place as well as an ileostomy pouch due to the non healing of his bowels.
On May 14th Brian was released and allowed to go home after an emotional and exhausting stay at the hospital , but he is far from out of the woods. Being home means Many new adjustments and routines to get used to as Brian’s wife now has to care for him full time leaving her out of work until further notice .With additional surgery still on the horizon and possibly another long stay the family has excused all resources between medical bills and now home care bills.
I started this go-Fund-me to ask friends, family and the community to come together and give Brian and Danyel a little back up to help Brian get back up any and all help would be greatly appreciated and we thank you all in advance for taking the time to read this Post
