Baby's Surgery to Reverse Paralysis
Donation protected
Yesterday started like any other day. I came home from work and was greeted at the door by Baby. She was happy, hungry, and ready to go for a walk. While we were outside, Baby was prancing around in the grass, when suddenly she let out a yelp and her back legs dropped. I quickly realized that she was unable to use her back legs at all--rather, she was dragging them behind her. After carrying her inside and seeing how much pain she was in, I knew that I had to take Baby to an emergency vet. After overnight care, x-rays, and a visit with a neurologist, it has been determined that a disc in her back likely slipped and hit her spine, causing her to be paralyzed. Fortunately, though, Baby still has sensation in her toes! At this point, I am being presented with two choices: (1) pay for an MRI and surgery in excess of $5,500 to reverse the paralysis; or (2) put Baby down. I have been assured by the neurologist that Baby has a ninety percent chance of walking again and living a long life if we elect to do the surgery. However, unfortunately, my family and I are unable to pay the entirety of these bills on our own. Therefore, we are asking for your help. Please give if you can and know that any amount helps. Even if you are unable to give, please share this so that others may. My family and I will be forever thankful.
