Baby Zaria's Medical Fund MNL

Hi everyone, my name is Richard and I am writing this to help my very good friend Roneil Balbarino . His now 2 months old daughter was born with congenital heart defect. Below is her story.

Baby Zaria was born on October 06, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes International Medical Center, Olongapo City via C-Section. We thought we can get her out immediately but was admitted in NICU from the day she was born.

The doctors found out a murmur on his heart and found out she has a congenital heart defect (complete Atrioventricular septal defects). In the complete AVSD, there is a large ventricular component beneath either or both the superior or inferior bridging leaflets of the AV valve. There is an increased flow of blood to the lungs through both the ventricular and atrial components of the defect. The effect on the baby is to worsen the heart failure that is associated with an isolated VSD and to hasten the onset of pulmonary hypertension. This is the most fatal of the septal defects type.

They also found out that she had an imperforate anus and had to go surgery. She was operated the next day after and now has a colostomy. She needs to undergo another surgeries to correct her IA (imperforate anus) once she is strong enough. Because of the colostomy, she needs to wear a bag which costs 100-300 pesos everyday.

Baby Zaria was admitted several times due to complcations on her colostomy. She already had 4 trips to the E.R., 3 NICU admittances, and now in ICU due to severe bowel obstruction and her diaphragm is weak. Her Xray showed her intestine is occupying her lungs. She was intubated and under a mechanical ventilator to support her breathing. It became more complicated because of her heart issue (complete AVSD). We can't take a picture of her in ICU because it's not allowed but will try.

Her parent's salary is just enough for their daily needs. They have already used their savings, family's savings, personal and bank loans and their immediate family and friends contributed what they could.

Baby Zaria is a warrior princess, she keeps fighting for us and so do we. And one day we wil tell her her story. And when she grows, we will tell her that there is good in the world and the kindness of people.
