Our small family business was lucky enough to meet Seth's Mum, Kath, three years ago and since that she has worked as an amazing PA for us from her home in the Philippines.
Kath's second son, Seth, was born one year ago, and has dealt with a number of hospital stays and undiagnosed issues during his short life.
After a recent bout of extremely poor health, baby Seth was diagnosed with diaphragmatic eventration. This condition is the enlargement of the diaphragm wherein it takes the place of the lungs thus making it very hard for him to breathe. If not treated, this can lead to a life threatening situation where the intestines or other organs will take the place of the lungs.
The operation to treat Seth is $12,000 AUD which is more than one year's standard wage in the Philippines. This operation must take place in around 4 weeks time.
Kath asked for our help in the form of a loan, but we do not want her to carry this burden so we came up with the idea of running a fundraiser via Go Fund Me.
