baby Leo's therapy treatment
Everyone has "that one friend" , the type of friend you may not speak to for months but as soon as you do its like nothing has changed, the type that gives there everything to help and guid other's, the type that deserves nothing but the best, yet seems to always have bad luck. Well this is mine....
On the 4th february Evie and her husband Ryan gave birth to a long awated little bundle of joy named Leo. After a some what problemed pregancy the long awated day finally arived, but within days of geting home it began obvious somthing wasnt right.He was admited to hospital at just 3 days old put on an iv drip, feeding tubes inserted, poked and proded. After 1 failed and 1 sucsessfull lumbarpuncture they were told there tiny 6.6lbs little boy had Meningitis, group b strep, septicima and a bleed on the brain. After sleepless nights, endless tears ,regular fits and 3 weeks of medication he was home. The future is now not so sertain for baby leo after a recent brain scan the front and back of his brain are damaged meaning he may never walk, talk, and do any of the things you look forward to watching and teaching your baby to do. Regular hopsital apointments, brain scans & therapy is now needed which most comes under the nhs but evie and ryan have found another theropy, a little bit of hope with a treatmean in devon called 'snowdrop from brain injury children in devon' which was recomended by a lady on a support group for children with similar issues to Leo. Its pricey which is why we need your help but worth every penny for the quality of life that could be achieved by this theropy. The sucess stories are unreal and really give's a little bit of hope and a light at the end of tunnel for parents who's children have suffered the same as leo. He's now on a waiting list for the treatment which is why were trying to raise enough to be able to get his follow on sessions that are needed to get the full potential out of the treatment.
