I started this page to help my closest friend and his family who have tragically lost the life of their four month old daughter and a piece of their heart forever. Now, despite the pain and grief that he and his family will have to face today, tomorrow, and for the rest of their lives, they are confronted with the devastating possibility of not being able to lay her to rest with love and dignity.
On January 26th, 2018 my friend’s little girl passed away suddenly in the night. This realization of a nightmare brought sheer devastation to her Mommy and Daddy, whose lives will never be the same.
This grief stricken family was delivered a second shock when they were informed by the government that the only costs they would receive support with are transportation of their baby girl to and from the funeral home, the preparation of her beautiful delicate body, and for the coffin she would rest in. They are now responsible for the cost of digging a plot, for a priest to guide their baby girl’s soul into heaven and eternal peace, and for a headstone to represent her resting place. These are things all people deserve to have.
Devastatingly, if the family does not receive help with funding they will be unable to pay for these things and their daughter will be laid to rest in a neutral common ground with no markings. If this happens, my friend and his family will face the second trauma of not having a place to visit their little girl in the years to come while they morn and continue to try to go forward in life while a piece of their hearts are forever missing. The emotional and psychological toll this will take is unimaginable.
My friend and I have been close since childhood. I have been a part of his family and he has been a part of mine. We have been through many ups and downs in life. We have seen each other through many difficult things, but this is not something anyone should have to go through. My friend has fought hard to create a life filled with love for his family and after everything he has been through he does not deserve this. His precious little girl died too young, and I am so angry and hurt that he and his family may not have what they need to get through this, or be able to give their baby girl the burial and place of rest she deserves. I am devastated that we need to even have this page. At the very least, they deserve closure and place to visit their baby girl.
The pain of losing a child is every parent’s worst fear. A young life that is taken so soon is difficult to understand and come to terms with. It is unfair and cruel. Please help us take some of the stress and pain away from this grieving family and make things a little more bearable while they mourn the loss of their little baby girl. All donations received from this page will be put towards the costs associated with digging a plot, a priest, and a headstone.
