Baby Gabe's Open Heart Surgery

The Backstory
We are Michael and Katie Wieneke. We have 2 children, Wyatt who is 4, and Hazel who is 3. We found out that God blessed us with a pregnancy one month before we finalized our adoption of Wyatt and Hazel. We are having a beautiful baby boy, Gabriel James.
Fast forward to yesterday, November 29th, we were told after an anatomy scan that Baby Gabe has a heart defect, Transposition of the Great Arteries. This means his 2 primary vessels bringing blood to and through the heart are attached to the opposite ventricles of the heart that they are supposed to, which deprives his body of oxygen rich blood flow. This condition will require an open heart surgery a few days after his delivery to correct, in order for him to live beyond birth, and to live his life to the fullest.
We know that this is no accident, and that God chose our family to be the one's to bring His gift to fruition, and we are keeping our faith in Him throughout the process.
Why we need help
We also realize that we will need the help of others as well, and that God will place people in and around our lives to carry out His work as well.
We are asking for help for the financial burden that we will be facing in the months to come. We are having to relocate to Charleston, SC at MUSC for induced delivery, surgery, and recovery in April of 2019. This will cause Michael to take a leave of absence from work, expected to be a month or longer. We will have sizable medical expenses that come with any surgery such as Baby Gabe's, along with housing costs for our family in Charleston for the duration of the stay.
What's Next
We meet with a pediatric cardiologist December 11th, and begin our planning for eventual change of care to MUSC in Charleston, SC. We will be setup with a team there, and have the chance to meet them prior to our due date to setup an extensive and detailed birth and surgery plan.
Thank you in advance to all those who take the time to read our story, and for any help you can provide. We know that we are not alone in this season, and appreciate all the prayers over our family in the months to come.
Sincerely,
The Wieneke's
