Baby Evan's NICU Care

On October 1st, Jessica & Josh welcomed their first child, Evan Raymond Vidal, into the world via emergency c-section. Evan’s arrival came at just 24 weeks gestation, weighing 1 lb. 15 oz.
Although Evan is already proving to be quite the little fighter there is a long road ahead with many obstacles for him to overcome. Best case scenario, Evan will spend the next 3-3 1/2 months in the NICU so he can continue to grow and develop.
Jess & Josh would love for you to pray: 1) for Evan, to have continued stability, no brain bleeds and that he keeps breathing well. There is also a heart duct that normally closes up naturally within the first few hours a baby is born. Because that duct has not closed yet, Evan has developed a heart murmur and fluid in his lungs. 2) for his doctors and nurses, to continue to have the wisdom to know how to best care for Evan through all the ups and downs. 3) for God to continue to give Jess & Josh peace, comfort, strength and endurance each and every day as they trust God to continue to work miracles for their precious little boy!
Additionally, Jess & Josh are going to be hit with a ton of costs they weren’t counting on. On top of the direct costs of the 24-hour care that Evan will need for the foreseeable future, both of them are facing extended time away from work to be with Evan and each other. Add to that gas, and food, and maybe even going on a date or two so they can take care of each other during this exhausting and emotional time. This was so unexpected, and although we trust God is working this out, we also know this is going to be really tough for Josh and Jess.
