Help Me To Live & Die Well
Donation protected
In late 2016, I was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer, called Inflammatory Breast Cancer. After many painful months of chemotherapy, a mastectomy, and radiotherapy treatment, I was given the all clear in July of 2017. The fear of recurrence was always there though, and in April I was told the cancer had moved to my bones. This means it is no longer curable, and I don't have many years to live.
Everything I had planned for the future - my art, owning a house, travelling to exotic places - is now gone. Most of the support for breast cancer is geared towards older women, and I will most likely not live until 50.
I decided I'm not going to sit and feel sorry for myself though, so I'm asking you to help me make the most of the time I have left. I've employed a "death midwife", or death doula, to work as a companion for me and help plan for when I'm no longer here. I would love to be able to have her for more than a couple hours a week, and am completely reliant on my husband for income and care. Anything raised will go towards this much needed support.
