Splat Experience in Sicily 2016

Splat Experience has been painting performance art pieces since April of 2002, including two tours with Christian megaband, Casting Crowns. In case you are unfamiliar with our ministry, we paint 8' x 8' paintings, just using bare hands, in 8-10 minutes to music. In total we have performed over 1,120 paintings all over the world. Some of the most exciting performances have been on the streets. We have done just such ministry on three tours so far in Sicily.

We are planning the Splat Experience 2016 tour in Sicily and Italy, again with missionary Giuseppe Collesano. We are donating the time, now we need the funds to make it happen. Money will be dedicated to costs of airline tickets, paint and supplies, food and fuel for our team, as well as financial responsibilites back home (my kids love to eat!) We also have to consider Go Fund Me fees.

We are hoping to do 20 performances this year, our most to date for a missionary trip of this kind. If you want to underwrite an event ($500), we will ship you the painting created at that event.
A church full of African refugees, assembled for this No Greater Love painting, asked me to draw Africa on this piece with the words "Jesus Loves Africa."
Let me share a story from last year's trip. After a performance in a "dangerous neighborhood," as we were told, a translator brought a teenage boy to me. He told me he was walking by and saw me painting. Since he was an artist, he was drawn to the performance. Afterward, Giuseppe shared the gospel message, and DeLuca decided to give his life to Jesus. That's why we are passionate about going back. But we can only do this with the financial support of the church. Would you be bold enough to help us with your financial resources?
Many might see this as a partial vacation endeavor. That couldn't be farther from the truth! Last year we traveled over 4,000 miles, more than the equivalent of traveling from the western tip of Washington State to the eastern tip of Maine, painting and preaching the gospel 19 times. We also spent time in the markets sharing literature, working with youth, helping refugees, ministering in churches, feeding the needy, leading Bible studies on the Naval base, performing in the streets, and much more - always sharing the gospel wherever we went!
This might mean preaching after a painting to a large crowd, as seen here on a boardwalk along the Mediterranean Sea.
Or one-on-one with individuals until all hours of the morning.

It is exciting to share the gospel with those who need the love of Jesus, but it is also thrilling when we see local Christians encouraged to stand up and do likewise. This young lady responded to our Truth presentation by proclaiming the Bible is the Word of God, unashamed. Notice all text in our presentations is written in Italian.
It was fun to show up in a city (like Nicosia) and see how a partnering local church had advertised our street evangelistic events, realizing in the end it was not about us, but all for the glory of God!
Here is a pic of the team that helped with our last event in Geraci in 2015. You can see, this is not an individual effort. There are many who plan before we arrive. Many organize events, seek street permits, and do much work to help in our effort to share the gospel. Giuseppe does so much work before, during and after our events. It is a team effort. And our plea is for you to join our team by helping with the financial need we have. Without your help, the 2016 trip will not happen. It is as simple as that.
