The family is asking that everyone wear something RED to help celebrate his life as that was his favorite color and in lieu of flowers, they are asking for contributions for his 3 children.

We sincerely thank you all so very much for your continued support through this very hard time for our family. The family is truly blessed by the support we have received.

Juan (JC) Morin, a 35 year old husband and father of a 4 year old son, 8 year old daughter and 17 year old son, came to the hospital on Tuesday, Oct 16th because of shortness of breath and coughing up blood. He was admitted and the testing began.  Xrays were done and softball size masses were found between his lungs with several smaller masses on his lungs as well as fluid around his heart.

He had surgery and tubes were put in to drain the fluid from around the heart and a biopsy was done as well.  After surgery, JC was placed on life support for several hours.  Once he was able to be removed from the ventilator, he was placed on oxygen due to the masses pressing against his lungs making it very difficult for him to breathe.   This has not gotten any better and he is now on a C-Pap machine.

After several days of waiting, we were finally given a diagnosis of CARCINOMA CANCER.  We do not know what stage or type yet.  The doctors told us he is in desperate need of a radiation treatment to shrink the masses that are pressing against his lungs blocking his air flow.  This is an outpatient procedure that Conroe Regional does not offer.  We have checked with 7 other hospitals that offer this treatment for someone inpatient, however, they all deny him saying they don't have a bed, however, when and if we do find the hospital that will accept him, the family will then have to travel and lodge where he is to take care of him.

Unfortunately, he does not have insurance which is the main reason he continues to be denied.  This treatment is critical for  him so that we can start fighting the cancer which treatments for that hasn't even begun yet.

His family has been taking turns staying with him at the hospital while trying to maintain jobs, and keep life as normal as possible for their babies.  We are not ones that ask for help, however, desperate times call for desperate measures. Anything you can give to help through this very hard time will be so greatly appreciated.  Please keep him in your prayers as well.  We need all the prayer warriors we can get.

Note: I authorized Sheri Goforth, my step-mom and JC's mother-in-law to update this story and to be the beneficiary of this gofundme.
