Help Us Buy An Urn For Victoria
Having Children has not been an easy road for Steve and I. As some of you know, It took us 12 months to conceive our son as I have Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome. We managed to conceive one child, who sadly passed away at 9 weeks gestation due to a missed miscarriage. Then, with our son Thomas, we discovered at 19 weeks that I had an incompetant cervix, requiring an emergancy stitch and bedrest for the remainder of the pregnancy. I held on until 26 weeks, when Thomas was born extremely prematurely. He has Cerebral Palsy, Oral Aversion, Low Muscle Tone, Global Developmental Delays and a Feeding Tube. He was in hospital for 4 months and has undergone extensive therapy. He means to world to us. It has taken us over 2 years to be ready to try again. We knew we would have to keep an eye on my Cervix, but we had a plan. We fell quickly and, even though Placenta Previa was threatening, things were going well. That was, of course, until we found out that our baby had bilateral renal agenesis and Potters Syndrome as a result. The mortality rate for this condition is 100%. There was no way for our baby to survive. Steve and I were faced with a horrible choice, with no positive outcome. Our baby was going to pass away, no matter what we did. We made the heartbreaking choice to end the pregnancy at 20 weeks gestation. We have found a lovely urn that we would like to keep our baby's remains in, however, it is not cheap, which is why I am asking for any help that you can give us to be able to remember our beautiful baby that can not stay.
