Medical Mission Trip to Haiti

I have been given the opportunity to travel to Jacmel, Haiti with the nonprofit organization LOVE Takes Root in January of 2019 on a medical mission trip.
In January 2010, a devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti, killing more than 200,000 people and displacing close to 1.5 million people. The effects of this devastating event can still be seen in affected areas including Port au Prince and Jacmel. La Concorde Orphanage was destroyed with the earthquake damages, where 50 children living there had no appropriate shelter, food, water and health care.
In partnership with LOVE takes root, La Concorde has been rebuilt in Jacmel and is working on several projects to become a self-sustaining and functioning organization. During this trip I will be assisting at the orphanage as well as assisting in providing medical care with the mobile medical clinic to mountain villages.
This is a wonderful opportunity to for learning and will help me grow as a person and a nurse. But being a nursing student, financing this trip is difficult. Although I work as much as I can with two jobs while being a full time nursing student, and paying for basic necessities, I wont be able to generate enough to make this trip possible. I am reaching out to ask my friends and family for financial assistance.
