I am adding to this post because it has been shared so many times and people are asking how to help. It brings me to tears that people still care and still want to help. I was really starting to think Florida was about to be totally forgotten.

Woofsfock Charities which is my group has trailers running every couple days into the areas that are calling for help. The needs have changed since the storm. There are 1,000’s of families living in tents in parking lots of department stores, in their front yards and parking lots of churches. Many people can’t get to and from the few shelters easily. A lot of people lost their vehicles not just their homes. Also, they are not able to take their pets to shelters. If you have lost everything you have the last thing that you would even consider is leaving your pet. Fema has offer anywhere from 1700 -3000 to relocate. Which is great and all, but you try to pick up right now with deposits, first months rent and moving expenses to start over. The rent here is high, to find a home under 1200 a month before the storm was highly Unlikely. If you are willing to help we will see to it that however you are comfortable donating that it’s received directly to a family in need.

Things people are needing (Amanda Kramer will arrange pickups of supplies and gift card mailing. Please

Thousands of Floridians are living in tents due to Fema not getting the support they need quickly enough. Temps are dropping in the 30’s and families are trying to survive in parking lots of Churches and Department stores. Please let’s not forget even though the news stop showing you the damage, it hasn’t stopped here. It’s truly a living nightmare. Woofsfock Charities has rebuilt 4 shelters, re roofed dozens of homes, cleared out shelters, vetted over 40 animals with hurricane funding, and the work is still going. We are helping these families survive at this point. Woofsfock Charities is focused on the animals and now even more so the people. Please help us continue to be a resource for these people. We are in the hardest hit areas daily and have a great reputation of working with the Distrubution sites and rescues all over the panhandle. Thank you for all of your support.

#HurricaneMichael updates from #WOOFSTOCK Charities FL.
1. Woofstock Charities, FL secured the transportation of over 100 animals into no kill rescues across the country making room for the storm animals. Our efforts to transport to other rescues around the country is an on-going effort and greatly needed to save the lives of so many misplaced pets.

o 40 from Lynn Haven Animal Shelter
o 46 from Lucky Puppy Rescue
o Additionally, 13 dogs and 8 cats from families affected by the storm
o Currently working with the county shelter on transporting the overflowing pets to no kill shelters (Their time at the shelter is very limited)

2. The dedicated team of volunteers, have to date, delivered over $10,000 in donated and purchased supplies:

o Ongoing delivery of pet food and supplies to 10 distribution centers & Churches
o Many individual requests for pet food was answered in the immediate aftermath of the hurricane

3. Our Woofstock team has personally rescued twelve storm animals, which were vetted spay/neutered and adopted out to loving homes
o 8 dogs
o 4 cats

4. Estimated 500 hours of Woofstock volunteer sweat equity and purchased materials have allowed us to secure individual homes, animal rescues and other businesses in need. These efforts are on-going and will be required for many months to come.

o Helped move & secure valuable equipment from a low cost spay/neuter clinic
o Rebuilt and in the process of rebuilding over 1500 feet of fencing for two local rescues that are also helping house the misplaced animals, which include dogs, cats, horses, and other farm animals.
o Our next sweat event is to scrub one of the city shelters, so we can use it to hold pets while we find transportation.

5. Woofstock has been working with a city shelter to have a place to hold the lost/abandoned animals while we secure rescue.
