Hola, mi nombre es Carolina Salazar tengo 29 años y soy madre de dos niños pequeños de tres y un año de edad, por los cuales estoy aquí luchando con todo mi ser. Pocos meses después de que mi segundo bebe nació, fui erróneamente diagnosticada de mastitis y después de recibir varias antibioterapias por diferentes ginecólogos para tratarla sin ninguna mejoría, yo acudí a la opinión de un oncólogo, el cual me practico una biopsia y confirmo la sospecha. Fui diagnosticada con cáncer de mama en etapa III, lamentablemente en el tiempo en el que se trato la mastitis, el cáncer avanzo en su tamaño y no se pudo realizar la cirugía para retirar el tumor así que recibí primero ocho quimioterapias para reducir el tamaño del tumor pero no se obtuvo la respuesta deseada pues el tumor no redujo lo suficiente como para realizar la cirugía. Consulte con varios oncólogos que coincidían en que no era candidata para cirugía, hasta que conseguí una consulta con una oncóloga quirúrgica y ella considera que si soy apta para la cirugía, se realizara mastectomia radical de la mama y usara injertos para cubrir toda el área que se extirpara. El seguro social podría cubrir la cirugía pero seria hasta Enero, en ese tiempo estaría sin tratamiento y la enfermedad avanzaría mucho. Así que estamos buscando que sea en una clínica particular para evitar que el cáncer avance, el costo de la cirugía es de aproximadamente $3,700 dlls. Al recuperarme de la cirugía sera necesario mas tratamiento; radioterapia y mas quimioterapia que debe ser combinada con nuevo medicamento que pertenece al grupo de anticuerpos monoclonales llamado Perjeta (Pertuzumab) que está indicado para este tipo de cáncer. Es un tratamiento doble con anticuerpos contra HER2 (mi tipo de cáncer), este tratamiento consiste en una combinación de dos fármacos de quimioterapia que matan a las células cancerosas. Uno de los fármacos lo cubre mi servicio de seguro social pero el otro medicamento tiene que ser cubierto por mi, son necesarios cinco ampolletas de 420 mg cada uno, los cuales se me administrarán cada tres semanas. Cada frasco tiene un costo de $3,690.00 dlls, lo que da un total de $14,760.00 dlls en los cinco frascos. Por esta razón, estoy aquí humildemente solicitando de su ayuda para costear tanto la cirugía como el tratamiento y así poder seguir luchando.
Aun tengo muchos sueños que cumplir y mucho por vivir, pero sobretodo quiero ver crecer a mis hijos y cuidar de ellos.

A few months after my second baby was born, I was wrongly diagnosed with mastitis and after receiving several antibiotics by different gynecologists to treat it without any improvement, I went to the opinion of an oncologist, who performed a biopsy and confirmed the suspicion. I was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer, unfortunately at the time that the mastitis was treated, the cancer advanced in its size and surgery could not be performed to remove the tumor, so I began to receive a first treatment with a cycle of eight chemotherapies to reduce the size of the tumor but the desired response was not obtained because the tumor was not reduced enough to perform the surgery. I consulted with several oncologists who agreed that I was not a candidate for surgery, until I got a consultation with a surgical oncologist and she believes that if she could be suitable for surgery, she will perform radical mastectomy of the breast and use grafts to cover all the tissue which is going to be removed. My social security service could cover the surgery but I would have to wait until January and during that time I would be without any type of treatment and there is a risk that the disease will advance a lot. So we are looking for it to be in a private hospital to prevent the cancer from advancing, the cost of the surgery is approximately $ 3,700. once I recover from surgery, I will be in need of more medical treatment that will consist of radiotherapy and more chemotherapy that must be combined with a new drug that belongs to the group of monoclonal antibodies called Perjeta (Pertuzumab) that is indicated for this type of cancer. It is a double treatment with antibodies against HER2 (my type of cancer), this treatment consists of a combination of two chemotherapy drugs that kill cancer cells. One of the drugs is covered by my social security service but the other medication has to be covered by me, it takes five vials of 420 mg each, which will be administered every three weeks. Each bottle has a cost of $ 3,690.00 dollars, which gives a total of $ 14,760.00 dollars in the five bottles. For this reason, I am here humbly requesting your help to pay for both the surgery and the treatment and thus be able to continue fighting.
