Hola, mi nombre es Lisbeth Correa, y estoy aquí para solicitar ayuda para mi hermana gemela Lisett Correa, que trabaja como docente en un preescolar en Venezuela.
Desde hace unos años viene padeciendo un notable deterioro en su audición, habiendo perdido un gran porcentaje en ambos oídos, pero el daño más significativo lo presenta en su oído derecho, a tal punto que de no operarse lo antes posible, el daño podría ser irreversible. La causa se debe a una condición llamada “Otosclerosis”; que es un trastorno hereditario que causa sordera progresiva debido al crecimiento excesivo de hueso en el oído interno.
El único procedimiento para corregir su problema en ambos oídos, es una intervención quirúrgica llamada “Estapedectomía microscópica”; la cual consiste en remover el estribo que se encuentra en el oído medio y colocar una prótesis en su lugar. Está prótesis mide menos de 5 mm de largo x 1mm de espesor.
Para mi hermana es muy importante recuperar su audición, ya que le permitirá llevar una vida normal, aparte de poder ejercer su profesión que es una de sus principales pasiones, pero lo más importante es evitar que su enfermedad avance hasta el punto de terminar en una discapacidad total que frustraría el desarrollo de sus actividades cotidianas.
Actualmente, debido principalmente a la profunda crisis que se vive en el país, en la cual su seguro médico no cubre ni un 1 % de los costos totales de las cirugías a las que debe someterse, acudo a enviar esta petición, ya que le es imposible costearla actualmente. Por lo tanto, estaré eternamente agradecida con quienes puedan ayudarme a lograr la meta y que mi hermana se pueda realizar cuanto antes las operaciones. ¡Gracias de antemano!
Hello, my name is Lisbeth Correa, and I'm here to ask for help for my twin sister Lisett Correa, who works as a teacher in a preschool in Venezuela.
For a few years she has been suffering from a notable deterioration in her hearing, having lost a large percentage in both ears, but the most significant damage occurs in her right ear, to such degree that, if not operated as soon as possible the damage could be irreversible. The cause is due to a condition called “Otosclerosis”; which is a hereditary disorder that causes progressive deafness due to the excessive growth of bone in the inner ear.
The only procedure to correct her problem in both ears, it’s a surgery called "Microscopic Stapedectomy"; which consists in removing the stirrup that is in the middle ear and placing a prosthesis in its place. This prosthesis is less than 5mm long x 1mm thick.
For her it is very important to recover her hearing, since it will allow her to have a normal life, besides of being able to practice her profession which is one of her main passions, but the most important thing is to prevent her illness from progressing to the point of ending up in a total disability that would frustrate the development of her daily activities.
Currently, mainly due to the deep crisis that is experienced in the country, in which her medical insurance does not cover even 1% of the total costs of the surgeries
