Jesse was first diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic
Leukemia
In 2013 just before his 3rd b'day. After persistant fevers for a week we knew something was not right and that there had to be some sort of infection somewhere.
We took jesse to the Royal Children's hospital
to try and find out what was going on with our little man.
Within 2 hours a team of 2 nurses and 2 doctors walk in and told us every parents worst nightmare, Jesse has cancer.
With 10 months of chemotherapy jesse was in remission.
In 2015 with a routine check up of blood count and a Lumpar puncture we where told that jesse had relapsed.
Again we where faced with along fight ahead. Thankfully again after 10 months of intense chemotherapy and radiation jesse went into remission again.
In 2017 Jesse at age 6 started grade 1 at Marymede Catholic College. Jesse starting playing basketball for Marymede Flames in the under 8s. Jesse was so excited to be playing basketball just like his older sister and brother. Everything seems to be going great and Jesse was loving life.
Again after a routine check up in April 2017 Jesse relapsed again.
Chemotherapy won't work this time so now jesse is faced with the only option of having a Bone Marrow Transplant.
We have now been put on the registra world wide and looking for a suitable donor to save Jesse.
Over the next couple of weeks or months when Jesse gets back into remission and a suitable donor is found we will then prepare him for a transplant.
Jesse's mum will be at the hospital full time making sure Jesse is getting the care he needs. This means Jesse's dad has to reduce his hours he is able to work or give up work to care for Jesse's 2 older sibilings.
The family has been through so much in the last few years.
We are asking for you to help in any way possible to try and ease the financial burden on the family so they can focus on worrying about getting Jesse better and supporting Jesse 's sister and brother.
