Avery's Road to Recovery

My dearest friend Avery Chapman is fighting to recover from a traumatic brain injury. Avery slipped and fell while taking a picture on top of a scaffold. He broke the fall with his wrist and suffered a severe distal radius fracture. His head smacked the ground which caused multiple contusions throughout his brain akin to "shaken baby syndrome". He is also experiencing a diffused axonal injury as well as a compression fracture in one of his vertebrae. To put this into layman's terms Avery has detrimental bleeding and swelling throughout his brain as well as sheared nerve fibers. Avery has been doing much better these past couple of days, but he will never be the same person he once was. The road to recovery will be a lifetime venture. Avery will be out of work for at least another year or possibly forever. We really do not know the extent of Avery's brain injury and we will not for a while. What we do know is Avery has brain damage in various locations throughout his brain. This means Avery will experience a range of mental deficits, whether that be short term memory loss, an intellectual disability, impulsiveness, etc is yet to be determined. Expenses are climbing as his wrist requires an extensive surgery, he requires a helper 24 hours of the day, and various other expenses. Avery will have to foot the cost of being out of work as well as his hospital bills. We are asking for help so Avery can relax and focus on making a full recovery.
