Caitlin's Girls Need Their Mum

Caitlin was 39, married, and had 2 young children, when she was diagnosed with stage 4 Ovarian Cancer in February 2017.
There is no stage 5.

To complicate things, her cancer is a rare Clear Cell type which has implications for her chances of survival and limits her treatment options.
Caitlin underwent months of chemotherapy followed by extensive surgery to remove all visible disease in May 2017. This was then followed with more chemotherapy and a brilliant maintenance drug called Avastin.
Her girls are now 5 and 3 years old and have been by her side through the horror, hope, emotional highs and lows, and are having to deal with far more adjustment and insecurity than children should ever face.

Caitlin's future remains uncertain with her 5 year survival odds well below the 40% average for Ovarian Cancer. Some put her chances of being alive 5 years after diagnosis as low as 16%-that's a 1 in 6 chance of seeing her girls reach 10 and 8 years old.

Until we have meaningful advances in immunotherapy and other cutting edge treatments, Caitlin's best chance of seeing her kids grow up lies with her maintenance drug, Avastin (Bevacizumab).

This drug was part funded by the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme for the first year but will now cost $45,000 annually if Caitlin wants to remain on it. Avastin stops the blood supply to tumours and is partly responsible for Caitlin's current remission. There is every possibility that Caitlin will need further chemotherapy and surgery if her cancer returns so maintaining her Avastin treatment for as long as possible is critical, and expensive.
Please help, if you can, to buy Caitlin as many treatments and as much time as possible with her young family and hopefully she'll be around to see the new wave of medical innovations which will eradicate this disease for good.

Thanks

Kevin, Lilith, Willow...for Caitlin.
