I am building a high efficiency ultrasonic fogger for use with internal combustion engines to reduce fuel usage, decrease emissions, and increase power output.

Water foggers convert water into minute droplets, and introduce it into the intake air of the engine. The water droplets expand to 1600 times their volume when they come in contact with the flame and heat inside the engine. The result is that engine temperatures and emissions are reduced, and power is increased. The finer the droplets, the more power is produced, and the less fuel is required to run the engine. The ultrasonic method of producing a fog creates ultra fine particles compared to other water injection methods currently in use.

Here is some research to share to back my claims.
Since 1930 engines have been using water, water has been used in hard times to save owners money on their fuel. http://www.autospeed.com/cms/article.html?&title=The-H2O-Way-Part-2&A=110213   Water injection is used in many types of engine, such as jet, diesel, and internal combustion engines to prevent predetonation. Predetonation is a destructive effect where the fuel inside the engine ignites too soon, causing damage to the internal parts. This predetonation can happen in any gasoline internal combustion engine. Using water injection helps reduce the chances of this effect and the resulting damage from happening.   Another effect which is beneficial to the entire planet is that water injection helps to reduce harmful emissions. As quoted on Wikipedia, "... improvements in power and fuel efficiency can also be obtained solely by injecting water.

Water injection may also be used to reduce NOx or carbon monoxide emissions." -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_injection_(engine)

Here, the IEEE, an international consortium of engineers, documents how squirts of water can boost engine performance and fuel economy by 13% -- http://spectrum.ieee.org/cars-that-think/transportation/efficiency/squirts-of-water-can-boost-engine-performance-fuel-economy-by-13

The benefit of this water fogging system over the current water injection systems is that by producing smaller droplets of water, my system consumes far less power and water. This means that more power goes to the road instead of being used to run the equipment, and drivers will be able to drive further before needing to refill the water reservoir.

Water fogging keeps your engine cleaner too, which results in a more efficient, longer lived engine.

My Goals
The purpose of the money raised is to pay for the high quality machining required to make the system. Once the machining is paid, any extra funds will go towards producing multiple systems for testing and development. The end goal is to have a system which is easily installed, and easily maintained, yet saves the vehicle owner in maintenance, fuel, and repair costs. Once installed, use will be as simple as filling an onboard tank with common distilled water, as found in most grocery and drug stores throughout the world. The Automotive Water Fogger will take care of the rest.
