Autism Sensory & Social Activities

The Move to Learn Homeschool Group , a non-profit organization, is a collaboration of dedicated parents, tutors and specialists who create opportunities for our children to reach their full learning potential. 

Our group welcomes children with an array of learning, communication and physical challenges.  We utilize SMART boards and iPads to enhance academic learning, work on visual spatial and fine motor integration, and social skills. Those in the group who are non-verbal or have limited language access academics through a variety of communication methods. We encourage each family to bring their communication alternatives their child is familiar with including augmentative devices and letter boards. 

The program is ideal for children who find it difficult to organize sensory information, thus interfering with their ability to learn in a traditional manner. The program addresses the sensory challenges in an academic setting specifically for children with sensory motor, emotional and behavioral needs.

We have a small number of children currently in the program, which allows for individualized attention.  Many of the children that have had success in Move to Learn have Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), low muscle tone, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Dyspraxia, Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD-NOS), Learning Disability and/or fall on the Autism Spectrum.
