Autism Breaking Barriers Sky Dive

Donation protected
In this picture is my 8 year old ASD and ADHD  daughter Kaycie.  She found absolutely everything about taking part in this activity with her family painfully difficult and overwhelming. From the anticipational work up to the dive, to the little things we all take for granted, such as having to change into the special suit for the flight.. She struggled, and needed LOTS of additional support... we had mini meltdowns, we had huge meltdowns, and lots and lots of tears and worry...... BUT she did it! And we couldn’t be prouder of her!
Most people don’t realise the additional support and work that goes into something that everyone else seems to take in their stride... We’d like to try and bridge that gap! We would like to try and fund some specialised help and 1-2-1 training and support, to enable these amazing children face their fears and experience once in a lifetime opportunities like the one Kaycie took part in last week. Indoor sky dives are NOT cheap, and are fairly rushed through for the hour and a bit you’re there.. The average time spent with an instructor in any given session is 2 minutes, and we all know, that for our babies, it’s no where near enough!!
My husband would like to jump completely out of his own comfort zone, by completing an actual real life sky dive this time, and not in a simulator, to A) show our daughter that neuro-typical adults struggle with new experiences and fears just as our beautiful babies do, and B) most importantly, raise money to enable us to pay for some local ASD beauts to have the time and space to try out new things and amazing experiences without the usual time constraints and large groups involved. Most of all we would like to just let them and their families enjoy and exceptional family day out proving that we continue to break barriers and that anything’s possible!

It it would be amazing if you could join in and donate, not only watch my husband jump out of a plane but support some amazing children accomplish something extraordinary!
