Incredible Autistic Twin Boys

Donation protected
2017

We are raising money to send Samuel to America with his family to do the Son Rise Intensive Program. He has a tentative booking at the Son Rise Institute on the 13-17th November 2017.  We have to raise £12,500 for this intensive individualised programme.

This has been a long term dream of the family and they know it will make a huge difference to their son who is already starting to say a few words.

Samuel and Jacob are 12 year old autistic twins. At 2 years old, they were diagnosed with severe autism. Their parents were told to put them in full time care, but they could not give their boys up.

For years the boys had sleepless nights. They would smear their excrement almost daily, and they would destroy the contents of their home.

The family saught help from every where they could, but were told that their boys would never recover, that they would never be affectionate, and that they should be put in a home.

It was by chance that they come across Son Rise, a pioneering relationship approach to Autism, that began in America by parents of a severely non-verbal autistic boy (that boy is now the CEO of the charity!).

In 2014, the Montague's took the boys out of their special needs school in Kent, England, where they were strapped into wheel chairs to contain them while they were taught the national curriculum.

Mark, their Dad, with the help of kind donations for materials, spent 6 months, in between caring for the boys and working, building two Son-Rise playrooms at the bottom of their garden.

They starting using the one to one Son-Rise Program which uses love, patience and encouragement to draw the boys into wanting to engage with the world.

They also worked with a nutritionist to change their diet and eliminated gluten.

After 2 years,  these changes are having miraculous effects. The boys have become happy and relaxed. They have decreased their repetitive patterns of behaviour or ism's. They have completely stopped any aggressive behaviour. They are affectionate and look people in the eye. They no longer destroy things.

The family had to have a high fence to keep the boys from running away. They had to have locks on every door, but they no longer need locks nor high fences.

There are very few Son Rise specialists in the UK. The family are trying to raise the money to take the twins to America to do the  Son-Rise  Intensive Program
 in November 2017.

The family wish to offer other families affected by autism HOPE, which is why they agreed to the making of the film above. Please spread it far and wide.

Thank you so much for your generous donations and support. Every single penny that you give, apart from the small commission that Go Fund Me takes,  will go to funding Samuel's trip to America.

We will keep you posted of their progress!
