Housing for elderly/disabled

Late 2013 my father's health began to rapidly decline. By the time diagnoses of Parkinsons Disease and Dementia/Alzheimers was made for this US Veteran was made, it was too late. What happened next was absolute shock to the system. On February 23,2014, a woman showed up at their home of 35+yrs stating she was now the owner and they had 30 days to vacate. My parents had misplaced their tax bill and the home was sold at a Tax Lien Sale thru Charleston County. My husband and I contacted the new owner and asked to meet with her. On March 2,2014, we met with the new owner of the home, Dr. Galina Bogatkevich of The Medical University of South Carolina. I went into detail the  health of both of my parents, the recent approval of home health care from The Charleston VA, and that myself, my husband and daughter were doing the best we could to take care of them. We offered back every dime she paid for the home if she would just sign it back over to them so they could keep their home of 35+ years. She refused. Stating she needed this home for retirement purpose as she did not have a retirement package t. She looked me directly into my eyes and stated " you should have done a better job at caring for them" and then offered to rent it out for them. After extensive research, we found out the extent of problems my parents were having and what they were keeping from everyone around them. I asked Dr. Bogatevich for a lease proposal and the proposal she sent was ludacris. She wanted them to pay for all inspections and all repairs that were needed. We refused and got them out of the home after 35yrs. I am currently paying off their outstanding debts and asking for the fundraising amount to get them into a 55+ housing facility to cover deposit, first months rent, and utilities, all about 20 minutes from my home and 10 minutes from my place of employment.Charleston County is working on an overage amount from the tax sale owed to them, but can not give us an approximate date on issuance of check. We have never asked for this type of help and are very saddened to do this, but my husband and I can not continue to do this on our own with no help from my siblings. Any funds left over will be given to The American Cancer Society and The Wounded Warrior Project.Any help would be appreciated and we would be forever grateful just to get them on their feet again.
