Australian Deaf Swimming Team

Donation protected
Four members of Australian Deaf Swimming Team have been selected to represent Australia at the 23rd Deaflympics in Samsun, Turkey in July.

The Deaflympics are sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the quadrennial competition for deaf athletes.

In the past, the Australian Sports Commission has also provided one-off grants to send teams to the Deaflympics, but they have decided not to provide funding for this event.

Due to lack of financial support from the Australian Government, the cost to train and attend this international event is carried by the athletes alone.

The full cost for each athlete is $5400 plus covering the cost of a coach at the Deaflympics.

We would like to raise at least $4000 to divide between all team members to contribute the cost of attending the Deaflympics.

The amount donated beyond this target will be greatly appreciated and will further take stress of costs away from athletes in addition to other fundraisers that have been held.
