The Big G – Planting Tree

Our aim is to grow seedlings of this tree (leptospermum polygalifolium) to produce Australian ‘Manuka’ style honey which contains a high level of MGO content and can be classified as medical grade honey. This way we can have more and more fields of flowers for our bees.

We plan to plant as many of these trees as possible in the bush to encourage more wildlife and bees.

Beehive

Did you know that we import to Australia over 10 million kilos of honey per year? And we’re not even sure if all the honey we import is even legitimately made from bees; or what potent chemicals in the form of pesticides or herbicides are used in the area that the bees are pollinating in.

We would like to improve the Australian honey industry by planting and growing the Manka Trees (leptospermum polygalifolium) which has a high MGO content of up to 900+ (this content is not to dissimilar to the Manuka honey which is produced in New Zealand). Out of the 79 species of Manka Trees, only 2 or 3 of these species have a higher MGO content. The idea is to get as many of these trees growing in bushland as possible so that we can benefit from this honey here in Australia.

We currently don’t have an industry for this in Australia and we would like to encourage and grow this industry in our own backyards to help the bush, the wildlife and the bee community. We would like to get to a stage to give as many treez away as we can, that would improve a few more flowers for your local beez.

FlowzOver and Carters Can

One of the biggest factors and issues that we have out in the bush is the drought and the lack of fresh water supply.

The Flow Over has been developed to help move stagnet water around which will add more airation and lower the PH levels for better quality water for our Native fish...The Carterz Can is to provide a watering system to any tree for the first 2 to 3 months of their life and gives them a greater chance of survival in their development stages between the rains to encourage their growth.
