What if you were told that the only way to access God was through your pastor? What if you were told that the church was allowing people to pay off the “sin debt” of their loved ones through payments to the church? Five hundred years ago, in October 1517, a man named Martin Luther, angered by this corruption, began a great reformation combating many of these ideas. Through the efforts of Luther and many others, the Protestant Reformation began to transform the understanding of what it truly meant to be in a relationship with God. Not only has the reformation transformed Christian thought, but it has had tremendous impact of many aspects of our lives today.
Hi Family and Friends!
This is Audrey and as a Liberty University student I have been 1 of 35 selected out of almost 200 other interested students for an opportunity of a life time! Liberty University’s School of Divinity has afforded me an opportunity to serve during Spring Break as I travel to Switzerland, Germany, and France to walk in the footsteps of these great reformers and celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation, all while earning course credit! I will also have the opportunity to join with local workers in intentional times of engagement with refugees, as I seek to love and serve during this time of celebration and remembrance.
As excited as I am about this opportunity, the confirmation of my acceptance came with a challenging condition. I must meet my financial obligation by 1 January 2017. I am asking for sponsors to make any donation amount towards this once in a lifetime opportunity that I've been blessed with and to keep me in your prayers as I continue to pursue this path which God has called me to. The cost of my tuition has already been paid for. The amount goal will cover air fare, food, lodging and entrance fees to historic sites during this 10 day journey.
As a Soldier, all my travel experiences have always been mission focused and served the purpose for the season of life I am in. Being able to attend this trip will only enhance my preparation for the next chapter of life which I eagerly anticipate.
