On 24th August 2015 at the young age of 46 our best friends husband suddenly & unexpectedly passed away. Gavin has left behind a beautiful wife & four young daughters. The total shock, upheaval & huge heartache his passing has created, I can’t even begin to imagine or put into words. Gavin was the most passionate, giving, hardworking & caring man you could come across. Our aim/goal may seem high to some, but to put it into perspective it is to help make life just that little bit easier for five people who have always been so giving.

He not only had his own hands full with working full time, a wife, four young daughter’s & their sports. He always some how found time over the many many years to help other people & children, giving up his own precious family time. His wife Danielle also worked hard every day, school hours to help make ends meet & still be there for Gavin & their four daughters. Gavin’s other passion was the Quinns Districts Amateur Football Club “Mighty Bulls” where he played & is the only lifetime member, co-founding member & served in numerous roles including Club Presidency. He was a member of The City Of Perth surf life saving club, ski coaching & during 2014/15 was also a Team Manager for the Aussie Team. In many previous years Gavin was also at both the Mullaloo & Quinns/Mindarie Surf Life Saving Club’s. Any one that knows Gavin shouting!!! & giving his continued support to get the best out of both football players & the surf lifesavers. Gavin was a valued team member, a mentor, a friend & a positive influence/role model to many of his peers, children & young adults.

When it was time to pay our respects & say goodbye, I was truly stunned at how many people where there & that one man could make such a massive impact & affect so many people’s lives. So not only on top of all their grief, there is now the financial worry, strain & uncertainty for his family. This is were we all could come together & make a big difference to their lives, like Gavin did to so many other people’s lives through out the years.

Now is the time that we could all pull together to help in return. To honour Gavin's memory & all that he gave by giving a little back to his own family at the time they need it the most.

If you could please take a moment to imagine & put yourself in their position, how it would affect your own life? No time to prepare, for them last words, to say good bye, for the heartbreak, numbness, shock & total devastation his passing has left behind, not only for his wife & young daughters but for his parents, siblings, family, friends, colleges, team mates & every life that he touched along the way.

If you are friends, friends of friends, family, colleges, team mates, complete strangers or however you may have crossed path’s over the years with Gavin & his family.  His infectious enthusiasm, passion & selflessness he gave to so many others during his life & now his own young family have lost their rock, their daddy & husband, he will be deeply missed. We can’t say enough, do enough or as much as we would like to & take away their pain.

This is where us, as some of Danielle’s best friends would like to kindly ask you all to maybe today, tomorrow or next week or whenever you can afford to, give up that cup of coffee you was going to buy this morning, or that takeaway you was going to treat your family to tonight & donate it instead. Your kind generosity will help us achieve our goal to try & make this beautiful family’s life just that little bit easier & less stressful. It does not matter how much you can spare, no matter how little or much, as every single dollar will be one step closer to our ultimate goal.

Thank you so much for taking the time in your own lives to read this. At times like this it sure does make you reflect on your own life & puts things into perspective. If anything, just you reading this hopefully has now made you think how short life is & how quickly at the blink of an eye it can turn your world upside-down. Gavin’s passing will not be in vain if you now think twice about sweating the small stuff & you live, love, laugh, forgive & appreciate all that you have today as tomorrow may never come.

If you can/have donated we are forever grateful as this family is so close to my heart, so thank you very much. Whether you can spare a donation or not is completely personal, but please just at least share this link we will be so very appreciative & it only takes a second of your time.

Thank you xxxx
