Atticus’ Triple C Adventure

Donation protected
I have probably tried to write this about 15 times now, so forgive me if it seems a mess. My name is Tasha, but the most important part of me is that I’m Mommy to one of the sweetest boys I have ever met (yeah, I’m probably biased.) I am stubborn about asking for help, but I’ll put my pride on the line for my son. Atticus is a kind boy with a beautiful soul and a giving heart. He loves to read, play games with the family, help me teach Liliana weird dances, and learn new things. Since my husband, his father, was laid off over the summer, he has had to endure many changes. It’s been almost a year and I’ve been trying my hardest to make sure he has still gotten to maintain a full childhood with adventures that will shape him into a compassionate human with knowledge of other cultures and point of views. He loves new things and he has had his heart set on summer camp this year.

When we went to the free expo to see if it was possible, he fell in LOVE with the Triple C camp stories. His father went there in his youth with many of his friends and it would mean so much to us to be able to send him in his footsteps. There are many personal reasons why I couldn’t continue with four jobs, and I will gladly talk them over if you’d like, but the main point is that we have not been able to save enough to get him to camp. Atticus would understand if we couldn’t make it work, but I don’t think he should have to. He has slowly lost more and more of the frivolous treats that we used to love, like trips to Book Room and slurpees. They still happen, but he hears “no” more than I like and even uses his own earned money when he wants to go. He doesn’t want a whole summer at camp, but he’d love just 5-6 weeks to learn to swim and make new friends. We have almost half, but I’m nervous we can’t make the rest in time. If we somehow make more than that, we would love to send him for additional weeks or set it aside to cover anything else that gets thrown at us.

Everyone who knows me knows how hard this is. I don’t give up and I make things work, but I don’t want to gamble with something Atticus wants so badly. We will also come to you and earn the money if you have cleaning that needs to be done or similar things that we can do together. Please consider helping this child blossom with new experiences and feel the kindness of others.
