A short film narrative of two little brothers facing the realities of Venezuela.
Where:
Shot in Puerto Rico in July 2016.
Why:
At the Light is not another common story where the main objective is to entertain or move the audience, This is a story that transcends expectations, that seeks to inform and show a devastating truth through the innocence of two kids. These two brothers, through the strength of hope, reflect what it means to survive this crisis, this sickened Venezuela that not many know. It is a mirror of what it means to be Venezuelan. These kids find a way to confront every obstacle with optimism and a fighting spirit. And that is how a true Venezuelan is, that one that believes and expects something different, something greater.
Why this story? Because the world needs to know what is going on, because we need to be informed, we need to go above and beyond, because we want to take a step and dare to see from a different perspective. For us it is a challenge, an honor, a responsibility to have in our hands this story. This will not only allow the audience to be more aware of the reality of others, but at the same time it will allow them to appreaciate the opportunities in their lives!
How Was The Experience:
Filming in Puerto Rico made us realize even more how much we really need to rely on each other to make a project like this happen. A film crew is the very definition of teamwork.
When you are making something for a bigger purpose than yourself, every ounce of perseverance, passion, and determination will come into play. There is no obstacle that could stand in our way; And this is what we seen in our ATL (At The Light) crew. And this is what we see in all those kids in Venezuela, still fighting against all odds imposed.
