Attack of the 700 Year Old Tree

Donation protected
The Friday of Mother's Day weekend a 700 year old Great Oak split then fell and hit my Mother's house. The Great Oak tree damaged the roof, front door, porch, air conditioning ducts, electricity wiring and several rooms. With the force of the tree falling it smashed at least 8 joists, and possibly 8 beams; ripping a hole through the whole South side of the roof. We need to get a new roof on the house before the Tropical Storm season begins. Unfortunately, due to the ever-rising costs of insurance after hurricane Katrina my mother does not have insurance.
My Mama is a beautiful, caring hard-working woman that has seen a lifetime of disasters and tragedy. I am hoping through the kindness of friends and family we can help her. The house was rebuilt almost 13 years ago after Katrina ripped through the original home on the property. Still after the Storm the beautiful 700 year old Great Oak persevered and made it through the storm. This majestic and precious Great Oak tree is protected so any type of care or maintenance has been a financial burden surrounded by legal regulations. We love this tree and still hope that the half that didn't fall will still survive. Any donation will be heartfelt to our family in helping our mother rebuild again and helping the rest of the 700 year old Great Oak survive. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
