Twenty seven years old, newly engaged to the love of your life, college graduation just on the horizon, your four legged best friend Jax always at your side, and an abundance of love from family and friends. In most cases this is the prime of your life and the transition into a new stage of adulthood. Then unexpectedly you are blindsided by what might come to be the biggest challenge you've ever had to face in your life, you're diagnosed with cancer. All of this is true in the case of my best friend Austin Jenkins and that is why I am starting this GoFundMe page. Austin was recently diagnosed with a very rare form of non-hodgkins lymphoma. The news is devastating to us all but anyone that knows Austin knows his strength and hold a firm belief that he will use that strength to fight this disease and BEAT CANCER! Several tests have been done and are in progress. This is just the beginning of a fight we are all in together with Austin. Unfortunately this comes at the cost of expensive medical bills and time missed at work. Donations received will not only help with the medical expenses but more importantly allow Austin and Lauren to not have to worry about time away from their jobs. My goal as a friend in this is to let Austin, Lauren, and his family truly know they are not alone in this. GoFundMe donations, dinners provided, transportation, letting Jax out, any help that can be offered in making this time easier is encouraged, welcomed, and greatly appreciated. After visiting with Austin just the other day he explained that he just received his first medical bill of $7,000 and that is where I found the number for our initial goal. From start to end I want it to be known we are all in this together and this is the just start. With all the love and support from friends and family of Austin, I find this number to be easily obtainable and most likely surpassed. Again, donations received will assist not only in medical bills but also allow for time away from work to be easier on Austin and Lauren.
