TeamUSA World Championship Lacrosse

Hi there! My name is Ashley, and I am playing as goalie for Team USA at the World Lacrosse Championships in Edinburgh, Scotland this July. I NEED YOUR HELP in getting me there, please.

I am a high school junior and have been very active in sports such as lacrosse, Jiu Jitsu, boxing, volleyball, basketball and rowing. I am also very active with volunteer work such as tutoring younger kids at Saturday school, working with rescue horses, feeding the homeless in Baltimore, building with Habitat for Humanity, and mentoring in the Best Buddies program.

Going to the World Lacrosse Championships - playing for Team USA is an absolute privilege and positive opportunity for me.  I love the sport and would play in rain, snow, heat, or mud :) But this isn't just about the sport - this is also about gaining an opportunity to create a successful future for myself by moving onto college and building a career - one that will focus on mentoring others in finding their own path.

I need your help to cover airfare, ground transportation, meals, accommodations, and equipment as the expenses are simply not in my mom's budget. My mom has been a single parent since 2001 and works tirelessly in order to provide for my sister and I. She is my greatest love! She puts us first, and has always been our biggest supporter - even sacrificing her acceptance to Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. The sacrifices my mom has gone through makes me want to be a better person everyday; hence, my dedication to work harder and take opportunities for growth as they present itself. (My mom also raised my 22-year old brother who is now in the Army and lives in Nevada.) I'll be working as a summer camp counselor to middle schoolers beginning mid-June; my earnings will go towards my trip as well.  

Team USA has brought home Gold in the previous five years. I'd like to be part of the team that brings home the sixth! My mom has already been crying just because I'm part of the team. I can't imagine how she's going to be after! Well it will be August when we get back - we will need some rain then :)
