Ashley's Walk For Dad's Freedom

It is not good to be partial to the wicked and so deprive the innocent of justice. (Proverbs 18:5)
In 1988, Leo Schofield was wrongfully convicted of murdering his wife. He has been imprisoned since.
In August 2016, a written confession with matching fingerprints to the crime scene was received from the actual perpetrator.
The state attorney has the power to expedite the hearing and Leo's exoneration for a crime that he has been wrongly imprisoned for almost 30 years for. A hearing is not scheduled until October 2017!
Ashley, Leo's daughter, is tired of waiting for her dad to come home. She has decided to take action to try and get the state attorney to move up the hearing!
Beginning on May 14, Ashley will start walking from Fort Myers to the State Attorney office in Bartow, Florida, bringing with her a petition signed by those she knows and encounters on her journey to encourage them to move up Leo's hearing!
The walk is 182 miles and will take her about 2 weeks.
This is not a journey she can complete without help! I started this gofundme to help Ashley raise money for capital expenses she will encounter on her journey.
Money for food and lodging as well as extra shoes, weather gear and clothing are needed to help her with this journey.
Thank you for your support and for sharing this campaign wherever you can. Let's bring Leo home!
