Ashleigh's Florida Bar Expenses
Law school has been an AMAZING experience. Some of my accomplishments include being the Vice President of the Black Law Students Association and participating on Stetson's #1 ranked Trial Team and winning a Regional Championship, at which I was named the Best Advocate! My experiences have solidifed that being a lawyer is the perfect path for me as my advocacy and interpersonal skills have shone throughout my time at Stetson and made me a competitve job applicant. So competitve that I have already been offered a post-graduation position!
Law schools comes with many hurdles and there is one standing between me and the finish line...MONEY! Graduating from law school and taking the bar is an expensive endeavor. I've already funded as much as I could through scholarships and working. The Florida Bar Exam is July 25 - July 26 in Tampa, FL. Here's a summary of the remaining expenses I am asking for help with to ensure that I have the tools I need to pass the Florida Bar on the first try! :
Bar Application Fee .....................$1000
Laptop Fee .......................................$125
BarBri Bar Prep Course.............$1900
Adaptibar Bar Practice .............. $400
2 Night Hotel Room for Bar ....$600
The hotel room cost $598/night with the Stetson discount and is the hotel connected to the Convention Center so that I am not stressed about traffic getting to the center each morning of the exam. I have been lucky enough to find a roommate during the bar so that I only have to pay for one night. Adaptibar is an additional bar preparation software that is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by my school and has been linked to increased passage rates among bar takers.
Any donation would be greatly appreciated! Not having to worry about this financial burden would allow me to go into bar prep focused and ready to tackle this Goliath of a test. I ask that donations be submitted before my graduation date of May 13, 2017. You can think of it as an early graduation gift or birthday gift (May 24th).
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PRAYERS, SUPPORT AND CONTRIBUTIONS! I look forward to passing the Florida Bar and being sworn in as Ashleigh Brooks, Esq, later this year thanks to the help of each one of you.
