Izabel's Dog
Meet my daughter Izabel.
Izabel is like any other little girl you’d meet in her hometown of Allentown - she likes Frozen, playing with her sisters, and making people laugh.
However, Izabel is special.
You see, Izabel has autism which makes it hard for her to socialize in normal ways. Her autism is particularly severe and causes her to have recurring seizures.
She also has hypoglycemia - which can cause her blood sugar to drop to dangerous levels - potentially causing confusion, loss of consciousness, seizures and even death.
She also has a rare mitochondrial disorder which can cause strokes, seizures, GI problems, and general muscular weakness.
We’ve been blessed to have a daughter like Izabel, who reminds us everyday to take nothing for granted and to love unconditionally. We wouldn’t have her any other way.
But we need your help.
We’ve spent the past 18 months raising funds to get a service dog for Izabel through a non-profit in Ohio called 4Paws For Ability. They train dogs capable of assisting girls like Izabel manage their disorder by providing an alert prior to the onset of a medical emergency.
They finally have a dog available for us and we’ve been waiting so long for this day to come. We need to be in Ohio next month for two weeks in order to receive the dog but we still need to raise $5,000 to be able to go. If we miss this deadline, we’re not sure when we will be able to get the dog next.
We need help covering the cost of the trip, which includes travel, loss of income for two weeks, hotel, meals, and supplies for the dog. We’re asking our community, both locally and beyond, to find it in their heart to help us get Izabel’s dog.
