Hi, my name is Chyna Wu. I am a grief specialist and educator and the founder of Dying to Live. Net.

It is my dream to create a summer camp where I can share knowledge with children about confidence, compassion and creativity. Being an orphan for over 23 years, I came to appreciate all the skills and coping methods that I discovered during the difficult years without my parents and family in the US. Arts and creativity have been my major outlet for expressing my emotions and served as motivation on living a joyful life.

I am so honored to be able to co-host this meaningful summer camp with the Awakenings Wellness and Yoga Center in Sedona run by Mally Paquette. With her support and life long knowledge of wellness, I feel there is no better place or person to co-create this meaningful summer camp for children of age 7-13. It is our long term goal to turn this concept into bi-weekly retreat and respite time where children can get together and freely express their creativity, emotions and embody the wisdom of self awareness through yoga, art, meditation, breathing and mindfulness techniques.

This summer camp is about helping children in the Verde Valley to develop their confidence, compassion for oneself and others. The main focus of this camp is to use arts and different methods such as meditation, yoga, breathing, sound healing, EFT techniques, music, dance and video making to help empower children and enhance their abilities to cope with daily emotional stresses and external stress caused by the news and violence from today's society.

Our goal is to raise $12,000 for 10-20 children for 2-4 weeks of the summer camp.

Funding will go to support:

10-20 children for 2- 4 weeks

Arts supply

Learning & printing materials

Salary for 4 to 6 instructors

Traveling fee

Outdoor activities fees

In return for your kindness, you will be receiving the students final video making projects  about self awareness. Videos will cover subjects such as: Yoga, Breathing, and Meditation and other inspirational topics.

Thank You for visiting our project page and helping to make this summer camp come true. Please feel free to contact me at anytime if you have further questions of the project!

Thank YOU!!!

Chyna Wu

Hello everyone. Thank you for your continue support for the summer camp. Along with your online donation, we also have received donations, which was send to the yoga studio directly. We are so excited the camp is happening less than one week now. I can't wait to share with you of our fun projects and videos in the near future.

Also, another moving moment that I encountered yesterday. My invitation to Angie's homeless shelter's children and our meeting turned out that I have meet a new wonderful and inspirational friend, the founder of this only homeless shelter in the cottonwood area, Angela Locarno from the Angie's house.

The invitation to their children to participate to the program turning into a very meaning event and future collaboration to assist each others on how to support those who are in transitional housing and how to assist the children for their daily challenge. Angela's mission has been a huge inspiration for me and yet, she was so generous that, she was not only helping to match some children to our program, but also had sponsored one child for this summer camp. I just feel like I want to publicly thanks this local hero in Verde Valley, for her loving kindness to assist our homeless populations and for those who are in transitions. I attached Angie's information here.

Please continue to support us with this summer camp and the vision, which could turn this camp into a all year program to support children to make more arts and create more wisdom.
Thank you for your loving and kindness everyone!
Chyna Wu ;)
