ArtPrize Nine marks the fifth year that I will be participating in this annual art competition in Grand Rapids, MI. Many of you know that I look forward to this experience each year — the opportunity allows me to work at an incredible scale, both in material and concept.
For the second consecutive year, ArtPrize will offer ten $1,000 matching grants to artists seeking to fund their ambitious ArtPrize Nine projects through a campaign and matching challenge hosted at GoFundMe.com, thanks to the Michigan Lottery.
If I can raise $1000 asap, I can use the funds to produce my artwork. My entry into the competition is titled "Society of 23's Locker Dressing Room," which is a large-scale installation about my secret brotherhood known as the Society of 23.
