Help artists break mental stigma

When despair climbed into my brother’s mind, the will to live sailed out on the last ray of hope.  Melancholy settled in, barring the doors and windows of his psyche. Creative expression stood outside and wept, bleeding charcoal grey on the pavement.

My brother called it quits at the young age of 26.

Hi, my name is Anna Silgardo, founder of Artists in Momentum (AIM).  I am urging everyone to become artists in momentum. A movement to help empower each other, using creativity as a means of self-expression to promote mental well-being.

We are #breakingthemould, we are empowering each other to break the stigma around mental health through creative expression.  

On Sept 2nd and 3rd we are showcasing our united artistic spirit in Toronto at the Artscape Sandbox. The first of its kind, we carry a compelling message. Together, we are a powerful voice, each of us has the potential to make a difference in the life of another.  Our artists persevere through various forms of mental challenges, ranging from depression, bi-polarism and brain disorders due to concussion.

Jason Bassels, Tom Goode, Ryan Monteath, Angela Chao, Murtuza Kitabi, Marilou Frias, Ricardo Hernandez and Anna Silgardo are encouraging and supporting each other as a single community of artists. And your financial support will go a long way in helping us.



Artists in Momentum www.artistsinmomentum.com acts like an open door, connecting the artist and the community. AIM is a movement, nurturing and sustaining the spirit of the individual.

We all have it within us, this expression of our spirit which journeys from a realm where the impossible becomes possible.
