Art Convention Supplies

Donation protected
In the fall of 2017, I will be attending the IlluxCon fantasy art convention at the Double Tree Hotel/GoggleWorks Center in Reading, Pennsylvania. As a showcase for art with a sense of imaginative realism, the convention brings together artists, collectors, and other enthusiasts to experience all that’s encompassed in the fantasy art genre.

After attending IlluxCon for the last few years, I’ve decided to purchase an exhibitor’s space at the event in order to promote my art. As an illustrator and painter who’s work is geared towards this genre, the space allows me to display original art as well as sell prints, but more importantly, network. This is important because as a small business, the exhibition space offers me the chance to professionally display my work while meeting world famous art directors, gallery owners, and other artists in attendance to gain prospective work opportunities.

For it’s Tenth Anniversary, this year’s IlluxCon seems set to be the largest, most publicized yet. Also featuring symposium discussions, painting demonstrations, and lectures included in the cost of an exhibition space, it is an overall worthwhile venture for an illustrator like myself looking to illustrate for books, book covers, graphic novels, and editorials.

When I purchased my exhibition space, I knew that I had to be a part of the convention regardless of whether or not I had all the necessary money to cover costs and materials. This may seem a little reckless, but spaces were limited and sell out fast. Having an extravagant booth space isn't my goal, but rather having enough of the right materials to properly display my work.

In order to professionally showcase myself at this event, I am asking for your help in donating funds to help alleviate the cost of my expenditures. Foremost, I would like to purchase heavy duty metal display walls to hang my framed work. I also need a table cloth imprinted with my name and contact information and a telescoping vinyl banner with stand. Once these initial costs are met, remaining funds will go towards covering my hotel room, gas, and travel expenses (see below).

I am running this campaign for four months until August 31, 2017, in order to leave enough time to purchase, ship, and print the necessary materials before IlluxCon begins on October 18, 2017. Please share this with as many family and friends as you can! I would truly appreciate all the help I can receive! You are not limited to the amount or number of times you donate. Every donation helps. GoFundMe does take a 7% deduction fee on each transaction, which is why my goal is slightly higher than my estimated costs.

The materials purchased from this campaign will continue to be put to use well after IlluxCon has ended because I intend to rent more exhibition spaces at conventions and festivals. Through your generous donations today, they will be a cherished investment in the advancement of my career.

Thank you!
Joe
