Archie's South Downs Way Challenge

Donation protected
This is Archie, a 13 year old Year 8 student at The Petersfield School (TPS). Over the late May Bank Holiday Weekend (25th, 26th, 27th May) he will be attempting to cycle the 101 miles of the South Downs Way to raise money for his school’s Green Power STEM Racing teams.

Archie is both a petrol and peddle head and the opportunity to get involved in the TPS Green Power racing team was instrumental in him choosing to go to this school.

TPS though, like many state schools, has to work hard to raise money to support these great extra-curricular opportunities.

When Archie joined TPS, there was only one team and no space for new members, so, he decided to try and do something about it. There were enough students wanting to get involved to form another team so Archie approached the school Principle to discuss buying a new car kit and forming a new team. For his part, Archie committed to helping to raise money for the team.

With the support of the staff and other team members the new car is now ready and took part in its first race at Goodwood on 12th May.

Archie has organised this event, to include other race team members, to raise money to buy better materials to improve the cars and to support the teams attending racing events.

The challenge is taking place over 3 days

Day 1 – Eastbourne to Beeding Hill – 40 miles

Day 2 – Beeding Hill to Queen Elizabeth Country Park – 36 miles

Day 3 – Queen Elizabeth Country Park – Winchester 25 miles

If you or your company are passionate about STEM and supporting children and their schools, please consider donating to this worthwhile cause.

Big thanks :)
