Appleby Student

On Tuesday 26 February, a 13 year old student from Appleby was involved in an accident which has resulted in him being in a critical condition in a Newcastle hospital. Understandably, his family are spending day and night at his bedside and therefore are unable to continue with normal routines, including work. Living in hospital accommodation, travelling and buying daily supplies continue to cost them. 

We want to come together as a school and a community to support them at such an horrendous time in their lives, therefore our aim is to raise as much money as possible through this page.  We have set a high target for donations because it is unknown at this stage how long he will be in hospital. Any leftover funds will be donated to the family's chosen charity. 

Our school community is a close one and our thoughts are very much with the family at this time. Please give generously.

I have spoken to the liaison nurse at the hospital - the family are overwhelmed by the support that they have received from you all. All they ask is that you continue to think of Kacper and pray for his recovery.

Next steps:

For reasons of transparency, I just need to issue a few statements:

I am an Assistant Headteacher at Appleby Grammar School and know the family through their sons attending the school.

The funds raised will be used by the family to help them in anyway they financially require. This could be travel, accommodation, bill paying or any number of things.

I will be withdrawing the funds and then sending that money onto the account given to me by the family. I will do this by bank transfer.
