Appeal for my Daughter Tiffanys life

To all my friends, associates & anyone reading/listening:

I have created a go fund me account for my daughter Tiffany Patterson

She is in critical need of surgery. As most of you know, I had gastric bypass surgery in 2001 and it saved and changed my life. 17 years ago the surgery was covered by Holy Cross. I lost over a hundred and 160 pounds and went from 325 pounds to 165. I later had surgery to remove the skin from my stomach by Dr. Sasani, the two most important events in life and both CHANGED MY LIFE FOREVER. I believe gastric bypass saved me from an early grave from both diabetics and heart failure or I would not be here today to help anyone else with their issue. Those I have helped with real estate or legal matters.

Tiffany is now 31 years old and a beautiful wonderful human being, who due to excessive weight of 330 lbs and increasing. cannot live a productive life, she wants to have children and due to her medical issues and weight, she cannot. She cannot move properly and is uncomfortable in her own skin (a lot of us can relate to that one) due to the heaviness of her body. Her medical problems are excessive growing and ultimately I believe at a young age her life will end very early as mine would have, if not for gastric bypass and the incredible doctors I had at Holy Cross. Our family has a history of serious heart problems and diabetes. My mother struggled for years with both and my dad, his heart. If any is seeing that legacy emerge in her own life, she is prone to diabetes and has been told she has a small heart murmur, she has an enlarged aortic root in her heart,  back pain every morning, arthritis in her feet, Hypothyroid issues (that are increasing her weight exponentially, without increasing calories intake and yet she must take the medication. Obstructive Sleep Apnea that is both irritating and suffocating, hypertension, and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, which is cysts on her ovaries and an Imbalance in her hormone levels that are making her gain weight and not allowing her to have children. ALL OF THESE issues and some would be completely eliminated or helped if she did not have this devastating weight issue. Now, before any of you get on your judgment hats, hear me out. 

 

Tiffany, as I did, has done all the diets (, i.e Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Hydrocut, Herbalife, Nutrisystem Shakes, HCG Drops, Garcinia Cambogia, and I’ve seen her be fully invested in a Trainer at Planet Fitness while eating small portions of healthy food every 2-3 hours with added exercise and nothing worked. She exercises like a mad woman has and done the gym. None of these have worked and I saw my mother and myself struggle with the same thing. SHE HAS DONE ALL SHE CAN, IT HAS NOT WORKED. We come historically from a long line of very heavy women 300 plus pounds plus. I know there are two different minds in this matters we are each is titled to believe what we wish, I believe weight can be heredity and is for both of us. 

 

IF SHE DOES NOT GET THE SURGERY, she will die early and suffer continual medical issues until then. I am worried about the continued weight gain she is going to end up huge, frankly I as her mother am terrified. We all want our children to be happy and healthy. 

 

TIffany's insurance WILL NOT pay for this surgery, the insurance has an exclusion on ANYTHING Bariatric related, even down do them excluding weight program assistance and as you all know I am one to find one, but in this case, we have hit a wall with no way around. She has applied for Medical Financial Assistance and was declined for the amount, not even approved for five grand.

 

She must have $16,000.00 dollars by July, 2017 for the surgery. She has PAID over $600 in the last 4 months on doctor appointments, getting everything she needed to get approved for the surgery, ONLY to get declined by insurance. She has 4 additional, out of pocket appointments to do before Mid-July. Our only help is YOU, I am asking You to help her. She is my daughter whom I love and do not want to see suffer. 

 

Tiffany has done all the preliminary medical requirements for the surgery, (please see a list of her doctors below) which included getting SLEEP APNEA on record, and providing her full past history records which took months to gather as well as many blood work exams, psych exam, nutritional class for pre and post diet necessities with the change for Bariatric surgery and complied with all the steps her doctors which she has to do, for the surgery. We just need the money for the actual surgery. 

 

PLEASE if I have ever helped you with a short sale or real estate, legal services or if you have compassion for me, please help us with something. If everyone I have worked with helps just offered what they could, then this would be completed and she would be able to live a long healthy life.

Unfortuenly, Humana declined her claim even with this letter, due to Exclusions. (see the exclusions in the update)
