Appeal For 6 Year Old Retinablastoma Cancer

 Dear donors and well wishers. My name is Makazvita Ishe. I am working with Violet Makunike , Silas Paradza , Mr Courage, sister Sandy and Mhamha Vero to raise money for Professor and his family Professor was born on the 18th of May 2013 to Mashoko Zidanda (father) born 03 April 1986 and Divine Mbire (mother) born on the 25th of April 1993. Mr and Mrs Zidanda have three children ,two girls ,Tsitsi 9 years eldest, Princess 4 years last born and a boy Professor 6 years and second born. The ailment started when Professor was two years old. A cataract or tsanga started growing in his right eye. The family thought it was just an ordinary cataract.They used traditional medicine to stop the growth .At that time it was not painful They went to Masvingo Morgenster hospital for medical treatment and they were told the condition is Retinablastoma (Rb). Retinablastoma is a rare form of cancer that rapidly develops from the immature cells of a retina, the light-detecting tissue of the eye. It is the most common primary malignant intraocular cancer in children, and it is almost exclusively found in young children. They were referred to Parirenyatwa hospital . The mother spent almost a month in hospital without treatment for Professor. The mother voiced her concern after which Professor was operated on.His right eye was removed Professor was unconscious for three days.The hospital staff almost took him to the mortuary before he gained cosciousness on the fourth day.The parents complained about the treatment. Professor was later discharged from hospital. Within a short period of time there was another growth coming from the same eye and the family again tried traditional medicine prescribed by traditional healers. Nothing changed.

The parents are unemployed. The father sells firewood and do some piece jobs. They had to sell their livestock and household goods inorder to raise money for medical care and Professor's upkeep. They have nothing else that they can sell.They can't afford even US$10 to buy one of the drugs. Professor was last seen by a doctor last week and they put him on first and second stage cycle of chemotherapy but there is no change. Currently Professor is on morphine, cloxa and paracetamol. The family relies on handouts from well wishers in the squatter camp they live.Professor is in constant pain.

MONEY RAISED
Money raised from this Go Fund Me appeal will be withdrawn by Makazvita Ishe. The money raised will be used to

1. Buy medication for Professor
2. Pay for doctor and hospital visits
3.Buy medical stuff such such bandages 4.Transport
5. Clinical operations to remove the growths
6. Food , clothes and blankets
7. Expenses to seek medical help out of the country as the family wish to seek help in neighbouring South Africa or overseas.

HOW BENEFICIARY WILL RECEIVE FUNDS

The money will be sent to the parents using Western union ,World remit, Mukuru or Cassava money transfers. The other money will be transfered by same means to Silas Paradza who will buy required items and will also give the parents cash directly. Courage will also do transfers as required. Violet Makunike will also receive some proceeds deposited to the ecocash number for distribution to the parents as required. Thank you very much for your kindness .
