Anthony Mitchell's New Kidney

Some of you may not know Anthony has been battling Chronic Kidney Disease for the past 8 years. There are 1 in 9 Americans that suffer from kidney disease. This is usually from complications of diabetes but in Anthony’s case he suffers from a rare disease called Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis or FSGS for short. This disease attacks the kidney filtering units called glomeruli causing scaring that leads to permanent kidney damage and even failure.

 

Anthony has worked hard and done as much as possible to slow the progression of this disease through diet, exercise, and medication but it is not enough. He has started dialysis and is in need of a kidney transplant.

 

This has caused a huge financial burden. His insurance, while good, doesn’t cover most of the expenses associated with the pre and post treatment medications, appointments, and expenses. That’s why we are seeking help from his family and friends. Transplantliving.org estimates the total costs per person for a kidney transplant and everything involved can add up to $262,900 so no donation is too small.
