AnnaBella SunShine DayDream Everitt's Future

It is with deep sadness that we are raising money to set up a trust account for AnnaBella, the seven year old daughter of our beloved friend, Shine Sewell who recently passed quite suddenly. Like her name, Shine was a bright light that was extinguished far too soon in her young life and motherhood. AnnaBella was the light of Shine’s life, and her mother’s passing came shortly after the loss of her grandfather, Chef Ray Sewell, a legendary figure in the North West hippie culture, which included the Merry Pranksters, the Chautauqua Circus and all the places where the Grateful Dead toured when he was on the road and cooking for them along with his wife Dawn, Shine's mother.  While growing up with this bigger than life, yet close knit family , Shine was an integral part of all of her father’s cooking endeavors including Grits La Ritz, one of the favorite Oregon Country Fair restaurants and stages, bringing her unique flair to that and everything she did. Despite the stature of the Sewell family in our community, health issues (Shine was about to give Ray a kidney, his second kidney transplant, when he died the night before the procedure) and other factors were such that life was always a struggle; yet through it all, AnnaBella was her shining star, and motherhood was her first priority.

Those of us who knew and loved Shine feel passionately for AnnaBella and are seeking to help her future be a little brighter by allowing her the comfort of a solid foundation built by those who recognize the needs of a motherless child and can help assure that those needs are met, especially with regard to her education. Please give what you can— every donation, big or small, will make a difference. All of the money raised will be held in a trust that can only be used for AnnaBella’s future life enrichments and education. Please send prayers for her and her family as they navigate what will be a very difficult and trying road. We come together as a family to guard this child from further hardship by supporting her in any way possible, and to provide a future secured with our love.
