Angie's Cancer Journey

Donation protected
On March 4th of this year, my daughter Angie was diagnosed with Stage III Endometrial Cancer and a smaller secondary cancer (metastatic breast cancer) was found on her bones.  There were no symptoms to indicate that she had this advanced disease so this devastating news came as a complete shock to our family and friends.

She had emergency laparoscopic surgery on March 8th at El Camino Hospital to remove the cancer and then on April 22nd she began a combination treatment of chemotherapy and 28 rounds of radiation that finished on May 29th.  She's been doing well, healing from the treatments and just started introducing some complimentary therapies from a naturopathic doctor to prepare her body for the next round of new chemotherapy drugs that is set to begin on June 24th.

The cost of all these cancer treatments has been steep and while it is largely covered by insurance she has had a surge of unexpected medical costs, deductibles, a large income reduction due to being on state disability as well as zero coverage for the naturopathic medicine and treatments that provide her some relief from the harsh side effects of chemotherapy and radiation.

She is bravely facing all of this as a single mom with the primary responsibility for her 2 wonderful children and the added stress of the financial burden of this disease is something that I hope can be lessened with some support from the community.
