Phillips Kid's Summer Fun(d)!

Donation protected
As friends of Angela Phillips, we are launching this GoFundMe campaign because she is someone we care deeply about. Mostly, she is someone we want to help and ironically the funds raised here aren't aimed directly at her. They are for her two kids that long for normalcy as their mom transitions from a successful career woman to a fighter of a monster called Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

You know this disease as ALS.

The internet will tell you it's rare; a complex and devastating disease that primarily effects aging white males from 50 to 70 years of age. Experts will aim to draw loose diagnosis patterns from athletes to veterans.

Angela Phillips isn’t 70 years old. She isn’t 60 or even 50. She’s not a man, and she has not played in the NFL or served time during the Gulf War. But Angela has ALS … yes, the Ice Bucket ALS - that hard-to-pronounce, completely confusing medical condition described are one in the same.

Angela, is a wife and mom ... and there is absolitely no coincidence we begin this campaign on Mothers Day.

Remarkably, she and her husband, Mike, face the biggest challenge imaginable with positivity; fully centered with focus and priority on their children.

ALS is a fight, and with any good fight comes sacrifice. It stole her successful career and a daily normalcy we all take for granted. This includes being active with her kids; trampoline jumping, daily walks, regular bike rides.

And yet now at only 41 years old, Angela's new normal involves a feeding tube, breathing mask, wheel chair assistance, and chair lift to get her to the second floor bedroom. Her mother, Faye, has proudfully endured the neccessary responsibilities of laundry, house cleaning, cooking and most importantly ... caring for Angela. Mike continues to be a hero. He goes to work day-in and day-out, all while fighting siliently with a smile on his face, keeping everyone happy.

We do this because we know Angela as the most selfless person anyone will ever meet, still so consumed with how everyone else is doing, despite daily struggles that seem  unfathomable to almost everyone.

The smallest contribution will mean more than anything to the Phillips kids ... they deserve this, and we are excited to be part of a community that embraces support for their families.
