Angela Melendrez is a beautiful Wife, Mother of 4, and Grandmother of 5. She is also a wonderful Daughter, Sister, Godmother, Aunt, Friend and Co-worker.

The Melendrez’ family’s world has been turned upside down in the last few weeks as she was recently diagnosed with Phase 4 Gliosarcoma. Gliosarcoma is a rare, aggressive and incurable brain cancer.

Her family would like to share her story with you.  Angela “Angie” is a remarkable woman in every way. She is only 56 years old. She has a smile and laugh that brightens up any room. She loves music and dancing and most of all, her family. She is a very hard working woman and has done what some may deem as impossible so that her family can enjoy a good life together.   She has put herself in front of everyone else and deserves the very best.  She is not only beautiful but strong, caring and the best person to have at your side!

She has worked for the building material industry for over 30 years. She has proved to be one of the most successful hard working women in the industry. Starting as a clerical clerk in 1985, she worked her way up the ladder to become a Branch Manager. She thoroughly enjoys her career & takes a lot of pride in her accomplishments.

A few weeks ago, she drove herself to emergency because she wasn’t feeling well with ongoing headaches, blur vision and being off balance.  They found tumors in her brain and she then had a biopsy surgery done by PIH.  A small ball size tumor was removed from the back of her brain which concluded it was Glioblastoma.  The cancer has spread to other areas of her brain, neck and spine.  They are now waiting to see what form of treatment would be best with further diagnosis and tests at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.  She is currently at home with her family and doing physical therapy to help her gain her strength back for the areas that have already been affected.

While the statistics are not in her favor, we are all praying every day for her miracle.  In the meantime, we want our HERO to rest easy with no worries of leaving her family in debt.

Her main concern is the home that they just purchased last year and with medical bills, her and family members time off of work (someone has to be with her 24 hours/day), her family and friends are creating this fundraiser to help her feel at ease during this life battle.  We want her to know that she still has lots of love, hope and dreams to share with her loved ones.

If anyone has had any experience with Glioblastoma and/or Gliosarcoma please share with us any “encouraging” information you may have.

We graciously appreciate your kind words and contributions and most of all, your prayers. God Bless.
