Angel Garcilazo Recovery Fund

On September 28, 2018 Angel suffered a motorcycle accident,  he was declared not at fault but still has to pay a consequence maybe for the rest of his life, he now has a long road for recovery. 

El 28 de septiembre de 2018, Ángel sufrió un accidente de motocicleta, fue declarado no culpable, pero todavía tiene que pagar una consecuencia, tal vez por el resto de su vida, ahora tiene un largo camino por recuperar.

Angel had to be taken by the ambulance to the hospital. The paramedics did not think he would make it to the hospital and he did! Then he was flighted over to IHC in Provo. The doctors did not think he would survive the helicopter ride and he did! He was very unstable for the night, the doctors did not think he would make it over night and he did! He had to go into surgery just for his broken femur bone and his breathing tube because the doctors said he had very low possibility of him staying stable while in surgery and all the procedures. He was able to stay stable for every single procedure, surgery lasted 6 hours 20 minutes, and was able to go through that. He’s a fighter who wants to get better and willing to put any effort in him! And we’re trying to give him a fighter’s chance.

Angel tuvo que ser llevado por la ambulancia al hospital. ¡Los paramédicos no pensaron que llegaría al hospital y lo hizo! Luego fue trasladado a IHC en Provo. ¡Los doctores no pensaron que sobreviviría el viaje en helicóptero y lo hizo! Era muy inestable para pasar la noche, ¡los médicos no creían que lo lograría durante la noche y lo hizo! Tuvo que someterse a una cirugía solo por la fractura del hueso del fémur y el tubo respiratorio porque los médicos dijeron que tenía pocas posibilidades de que se mantuviera estable durante la cirugía y todos los procedimientos. Pudo mantenerse estable para cada procedimiento, la cirugía duró 6 horas y 20 minutos, y pudo pasar por eso. ¡Es un luchador que quiere mejorar y está dispuesto a poner cualquier esfuerzo en él! Y estamos tratando de darle una oportunidad de combate.

Angel is a very strong, loving, and hard working person. He has a family who depends on him who have seen him standing tall and strong.  He worked pouring foundation with his friends this job includes lots of physical and active process in order to get the job done. Angel loved going to the gym being active made him enjoy staying healthy. He loves to weld it is one of his favorite jobs and he is very good at it.  Unfortunately he can't work his normal background acting jobs anymore, and is in between events (it's the holidays), so he is not working at the moment, but is very eager to get back at it. Angel lost most part of his left thumb, had many broken bones, internal injuries and 2 strokes, he lost partial vision and is not able to move his left arm. He now calls it his "woody arm" ( if you have seen toy story you'll get it ;). He still try's to not go into depression by making some jokes here and there.  

Angel es una persona muy fuerte, cariñosa y trabajadora. Tiene una familia que depende de él que lo ha visto de pie y fuerte. Trabajó con sus amigos, este trabajo incluye muchos procesos físicos y activos para poder realizar el trabajo. A Angel le encantaba ir al gimnasio siendo activo lo hizo disfrutar de mantenerse saludable. Le encanta soldar, es uno de sus trabajos favoritos y es muy bueno en eso. Desafortunadamente, ya no puede trabajar en su trabajo de fondo normal, y está en medio de eventos (son las ), por lo que no está trabajando en este momento, pero está muy ansioso por volver a eso. Ángel perdió la mayor parte de su pulgar izquierdo, tenía muchos huesos rotos, lesiones internas y 2 golpes, perdió la visión parcial y no puede mover el brazo izquierdo. Ahora lo llama su "brazo de woody" (si has visto Toy Story, lo entenderás). Todavía intenta no caer en la depresión haciendo bromas aquí y allá.

For his left arm is a whole other story, to make it shorter he needs 3 years of therapy and surgery to reconnect the nerves, the doctor said it would coast so much more than all the procedures were done within the hospital that it was a very expensive surgery.  His insurance is not in network and the only other doctor who could conduct this surgery is in Massachusetts. We’re hoping with these additional surgeries that he will not only save his left arm, but work hard afterward to regain some of the joys he once lived daily, and eventually return to work. However accessing the best care for future surgeries, rehab, and equipment will be expensive. His journey in addressing this situation is just the beginning. A long road to recovery, rehabilitation, and unforeseen medical costs lie ahead. 

Para su brazo izquierdo es una historia completamente diferente, para que sea más corto, necesita 3 años de terapia y cirugía para volver a conectar los nervios, el médico dijo que costaría mucho más que todos los procedimientos que se realizaron dentro del hospital que seria una Cirugía muy costosa. Su seguro no está dentro de la red y el único otro médico que podría realizar esta cirugía es en Massachusetts. Esperamos con estas cirugías adicionales que no solo salvará su brazo izquierdo, sino que trabajará duro para recuperar parte de las alegrías que una vez vivió a diario y, finalmente, volver al trabajo. Sin embargo, el acceso a la mejor atención para futuras cirugías, rehabilitación y equipos será costoso. Su viaje para abordar esta situación es solo el comienzo. Un largo camino hacia la recuperación, la rehabilitación y los costos médicos imprevistos están por venir.
